Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a non-invasive medical specialty. It consists of breathing 100% pure oxygen while the patient is inside a pressurized chamber at a pressure higher than atmospheric.

Under these conditions, more oxygen dissolves in the blood plasma. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is used for specific medical indications, sometimes alongside other treatments. The medical team determines the appropriate protocol for each patient.
